A Ma Maniére, James Whitner's Atlanta-based boutique, is noted for fusing high-end luxury with a deeper sense of purpose. For its interpretation on the Air Jordan 1, the store dived deep into His Airness' mystique to create a design that lived true to the tale. To pay homage to the shoe's beautiful legacy, James and his team used restraint in their decorations, delivering a new degree of elegance to the Air Jordan 1 while retaining its original design and stance.

To achieve that level of luxury, the A Ma Maniére team looked to another Jordan Brand model with a storied history: the Air Jordan 2. The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 1 has a Sail all-over suede upper for a subtle, vintage look. It also has a Burgundy quilted sockliner with similar exotic leather designs adorning the collar and Swoosh for a dramatic colour contrast.

Ma Maniére chose the Burgundy accents with consideration since it's a bold colour expressing royalty—a kind of Red with a different type of status than MJ's kit.
