Jordan Brand and Brooklyn street artist KAWS, aka Brian Donnelly, collaborated on the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 Retro. The design eliminates the silhouette's usual plastic embellishments and replaces them with a premium gray suede upper and midsole. The heel tab also features KAWS's "XX" marking. In March 2017, the sneakers were released alongside a limited capsule collection that included a coaches jacket, hoodie, T-shirt, and hat. The excitement surrounding this release was so great that cops read the riot act at an in-store raffle at Patta in London, while sneakerheads hacked Donnelly's website for a sting.
