The New Balance 550 silhouette was first produced in 1989 as a very utilitarian hoops shoe, but this underappreciated style made a reappearance in 2020 when Aimé Leon Dore revamped the silhouette and the collab established the 550s place in collections throughout the world. Following the success of the partnership, New Balance has released brand-new colorways that pay homage to the style's genesis tale, and the New Balance 550 Red is first in line to grab a spot in your rotation. The top is made of leather and has a perforated panel that allows air to circulate freely around the foot. On the sidewalls, New Balance's distinctive 'N' logo takes centre stage, while '550' is embroidered close to the toe box.
