L'Air Jordan 4 Retro "Military Black" mostra lo stesso blocco colore e gli stessi materiali presenti nella colorazione OG "Military Blue" del 1989. La tomaia è in pelle bianca liscia, rinforzata da un rivestimento sull'avampiede in pelle scamosciata grigia. Gli accenti neri a contrasto si fanno strada verso gli occhielli in TPU, la linguetta sagomata sul tallone e il logo Jumpman visualizzato sull'etichetta della linguetta intrecciata. L'ammortizzazione leggera è garantita da un'intersuola in poliuretano bicolore, arricchita da un'unità Air-sole visibile sotto il tallone.
