L'Air Jordan 3 Retro "Black Gold" da donna offre una sottile svolta alla colorazione OG "Black Cement" del 1988. Come l'originale, la tomaia è realizzata in pelle martellata nera con sovrapposizioni con stampa di elefanti sull'avampiede e sul tallone. Gli accenti di grigio neutro sono sostituiti da colpi di oro metallizzato su colletto, sottocchiello e linguetta, con quest'ultima caratterizzata da un logo Jumpman ricamato in Gym Red. Un secondo Jumpman decora la linguetta nera sagomata sul tallone. L'ammortizzazione leggera è fornita da un'intersuola in poliuretano, con la prima unità Air-sole visibile del franchise Jordan.
